Merger with existing Exclusive Networks Hong Kong entity signals start of further regional expansion into North East Asia and creates new opportunities for vendor and reseller partners.
PARIS, FRANCE and HONG KONG – 2nd Sept 2020 – Exclusive Networks today announced its acquisition of JJNET, the Hong Kong-based VAD, which it plans to combine with its existing local office to create a new cyber security infrastructure powerhouse. The move strengthens Exclusive’s commitment to Hong Kong and the wider APAC region, and provides immediate scale, in-country partner relationships and portfolio synergies to support its rapid growth objectives.
JJNET Hong Kong currently employs 22 people and holds strategic distribution agreements with the likes of Ruckus, Microfocus and Pulse Secure as well as A10 Network and ExtraHop in the spheres of cyber and cloud. Post acquisition, the combined Exclusive Networks Hong Kong will number almost 30 and report to Exclusive’s APAC division based out of Singapore. The acquisition is Exclusive’s first in the APAC region since the purchase of Transition Systems in 2016, and complements operations across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.
“The lack of specialist VADs in Hong Kong is a huge opportunity for Exclusive to expand to fill this gap in the market and provide more local and regional partners with value and expert go-to-market impetus around best-in-class solutions,” said Olivier Breittmayer at Exclusive Networks. “JJNET fits our profile of a fast-growing, locally focused cyber security specialist VAD with the same vision and values of our global network. Our strategic global vendor partners are very positive about this move, and we believe there is significant upside for JJNET’s current pool of 200 or so reseller partners to engage with a broader cyber and cloud portfolio, extending their value and relevance to enterprise customers in all sectors.”
Hong Kong is a major financial centre and global trade hub with a highly skilled population and one of the largest GDPs per capita in the world. Exclusive Networks established an office here in 2019 with a view to rapidly expand a presence to capitalise on local demand for cyber and cloud expertise. Following the acquisition of JJNET Hong Kong, its current General Manager Jimmy Lok – who becomes Country Manager for Exclusive Networks Hong Kong – and other key management will remain in their roles to ensure continuity and execute on an accelerated growth plan for the business.
“Joining the Exclusive Networks family is great news for everyone associated with JJNET and it will bring many new opportunities for our partners and employees,” said Jimmy Lok, General Manager at JJNET Hong Kong. “Our two organisations are like-minded and we have a strong plan to fully integrate into a powerful market force. Moving forward, we see huge potential for Hong Kong-based partners to leverage the global reach of Exclusive Networks and enlarge deal opportunities with new and existing multinational customers.”
